Bump

Just because I'm not in the mood to scan through Day 2 pictures and also because I'm more in the mood to post up 1 picture.

Haha.

PG-18

I know all the photos don't look nice, and I didn't really want to post them up here. But then again, it was my birthday as well (Hotlink wished me first the day before, lol. By the way, many million thanks to everyone who remembered =D) so I thought I must have a birthday post somehow.

I was in Comic Fiesta 2008 [CF08] for both days to take pictures of cosplayers and figurines (well, mostly figurines, but oh well). This post will cover the photos taken on the first day.

Picture order jumbled up for unknown reasons.

Let's start off with some uni peeps.

...and some schoolmates.

Natasha and her brother. Currently studying IT or something of similar coolness =D

Hani and her (I presume very young) sister as the Yagami siblings from Digimon Adventure xD

The rest were cosplayers that I don't really know who they were cosplaying as but they looked pretty interesting so I took photos lor.

Star Wars + Lara Croft + averyfamiliarorangedude + a StreetFighter(?). All armed with weapons or fists of world destruction omg.

More Star Wars =D

Andrew and Lulu with the Moogle! =D ...and Wakka and Rikku =D
I'd say they were very cool and the costumes were also very cool and all, but... aren't Wakka and Lulu supposed to be together? -_-

According to some very accurate statistics from some very accurate sources, people who dye their hair frequently will be suffering hair loss by the age of 25.
...Just kidding xD

This was very cute xD ah and I found out from Ching that it's Kon from Bleach.

Somehow everyone laughed when she was asked to "tell us a joke" during the cosplay competition, a joke which she eventually "sang", which somehow involved kicking and stepping on the emcee and singing something, but I'm not sure if it's a joke xD

Yes I have just realised I have this very bad habit of zooming out too much.

Never mind. On to the next ones.

That's all for the first day. Second day ones will be posted in future.

Alrighty! Now to thank the three who came over for lunch =D

Wing Keen (sorry I'm not sure if the spelling is correct, but thanks for the lunch! xD), Wing Lam and Andrew. Thanks a lot =D

...and also to Dhan and Ching (cancelling out the 'h's make "dancing" xD) for dinner =D Sorry, lighting not very good -_-

So yes, in short, I got free food on my birthday >P

Do You See Red?

actual post date and time: 14-1-2009 at 12.20am

Yep, the time when many Chinese and mandarin-orange-lovers would be eating mandarin oranges for breakfast lunch tea dinner supper and anytime in between is almost if not already here!

In order to reflect the very red season I did some minor layout changes. Nothing too major, and may not be very friendly to the eyes, but bearable I hope, haha.
Please note that being a banana does not mean I cannot include Chinese characters in the header >D Hope I got it right though, I just copied and pasted them from Google -_-

The very very time-consuming 3D-furball-which-doesn't-look-3D will have to wait. Delayed mostly due to lack of motivation =\ It will get done someday though, just not now. I guess.

I am Still Not Working

Eek sorry for not updating. Erm on a second thought you should feel sorry for me for not updating, because to have a blog and not blog is a sign that I'm not exactly in my right mind right now! xD

...Not really lah. I'm just feeling extremely lazy, that's all. Heck, I even told my parents I'd like to "retire" when I'm not even working xD And yes, I've been sleeping day and night these days, even more hours than a cat, so in actual 100% accurate fact, cats sleep alot like me and not the other way round.

I was really tempted to post up many pictures I took from the very interesting cosplay event, but then I realised the picture qualities were leaning towards "disastrous", so maybe I'll just post up a couple of pics and then delete the rest, but that'd be rude to the cosplayers who worked very hard to pose for my hardworking camera which was unfortunately handled by an unskilled photographer with zero artistic talent. Aiya how bad can pictures get with a DSLR? They can get very bad, very bad I tell you. Oh teh self hate, I shall drown in my sorrows and then the water will suddenly get dark and proceed to go forever down. Oh lala ~

And Ching, I'll hand them over in a CD when I see you, sorry for the great delay ya T_T

Andandand the postdate has been deliberately changed for some reasons xD

For My PoPo

Before you read on: If you think taking pictures at one's own grandmother's funeral is something very very wrong and I should be chopped for this, you should prolly close the window, and proceed to some other blogs/sites without such photos, and not bug me about it. And this is more of an apology post than a tribute post, sorry it turned out this way.

This is a very very very overdue post, sorry =\

As some of you may or may not know, I ditched my Structures tutorial some 2 months back and left (more like abandoned) my group members, to finish up our final SS project all by themselves and then present it to the rest of the class. Anyway, I don't think I would have presented even at gunpoint, so I don't have an excuse for that. Sorry, and thanks for the trouble o groupmates =\

So I balik-ed kampung that day because my grandmother was very ill. The doctor asked all her family members to see her for one last time, and also hire monks to help her soul get out of the body. Very scientific, I know.

The grandmother I saw then, was very different from the grandmother I had been so accustomed to seeing every year, the most recent being only 8 months before. She was very normal then, not exactly in the best of health, but definitely not the sickly type. I can't really explain it, but she looked almost devoid of life =(

I don't know if she recognized me this time, since I'm a very lousy grandchild who avoided going back "all the way to Bentong in a 2-hour ride and end up getting carsick" as often as possible.

She passed away 2 days after, at the age of 72.

The average life expectancy has been steadily increasing over the years, so I think 72 is too young an age to leave the world, but I don't think I should be ranting in such an important post, so I won't go further into this.

I don't know much about my grandma (I call her PoPo), I rarely even see her. No, my parents are not to blame for this, I have always wholeheartedly refused to follow them back myself.

She is never one to talk much. Phone calls to her always ended within 5 minutes, something I like since I don't like phone conversations.

And erm while I seldom ever go back, she actually made a checkerboard-ish blanket and also a rather elaborate carpet(?). Well, everyone else got one too, but every single one's different =) I believe there are some other things, but these two are the only ones I can see in my room right now.

And she never cries. Not that I've seen before, at the very least.

Oh, and she's not afraid of ghosts. In fact, she said humans are much scarier than ghosts.

Somehow the Taoist monks insisted that I take a picture of this.

Anyway, this has been my longest stay at the house, which allowed some bonding time with my 3 little cousins. Usually I just go back during CNY and smile at them sleepily, and they smile back. This time we can talk and play.

I should have visited you more often, that way I'd be able to know you better. I do feel guilty about it. So sorry about that =(

If there is such a thing as next life, I hope I'd be able to visit you more often if you are my grandmother again. For all I know you might have been my grandma in my previous life and maybe I've been this way all my lives, so I can't really guarantee, but I do hope I can.

I don't think I can write anymore than this, I don't know much in the first place, I shouldn't write what I don't know, sorry again for knowing so little. So I'll just stop here.

Do rest in peace, PoPo.

If Only

Everyone loves "what if"s. Yes, I do that everyday myself. I try not to these days, but try as I may, I do them anyway. Haha.

Examples include 'if only those @#$% organizers had my favourite colour pencil I'd have been in a better mood and won't create havoc at the party, if only that @#$% emcee didn't come late and made me eat dinner late I lovelovelove eating one you know, if only the @#$% mosquito didn't fly into my room and stung me and now you see you see I have bruises all over, if only that @#$% idiot didn't scream and made me lose the game and now I need to belanja my bro makan, if only I'd stop writing rubbish now, etc. etc.'

The pointtttt isssss, if you keep thinking about all these stuff you will end up seeing dinosaurs. Possibilities are endless anyway. Maybe not now, but you will eventually if you do it often enough, don't worry =P

...Maybe you'll see this 1966 car first. Carolyn & cousins guessed correctly, and very quickly too!
(on the other hand, I myself had to actually refer to the paper that came with the toy -_-")

...actually, that's what my dad said to me when I was complaining about how I could have done something better if circumstances were more, say, favourable. Minus the examples, I think. And he heard that from some talk, I think xD

I noticed that I always edit my posts 12455693 times after publishing them -_-

Just a post to keep the place alive, while I wait for some cheapskate stuff to enable me to snap some somewhat different photos. Till then erm, no photo updates! xD

YESH I am posting this up on purpose *coughIhavetheyellowonecoughcough* =P and sad to say, this picture had been edited to death -_-

Both pictures were taken at the same time as the ones in the previous post, I was too lazy to erm resize and edit them yesterday.

P.S: I'm waiting to watch The Prestige (by waiting you know erm what I mean lah hor). I hope it'll be cool.

P.P.S: Since I spent so much time typing this post, the wait *points at the first P.S.* is now over.

My Life has No Drive

Post subject: a very cute toy car I got for RM2. Guess the model =P

The same ol same ol shot I know you're already tired of seeing

Oh here's something slightly different

My personal favourite =D and it's only cropped, no colour edits >D

I know. While other photographers go out and photograph real life, I'll probably be spending the rest of my life photographing toy cars at home. Lol.

Please Show Me Some Mahjong Tiles xD

I don't have any reason to like the picture, but I somehow like the way I arranged the tiles =D

I've been wondering, was I that much of an outcast in school? Oh well xD

Oh aM Gee

I just noticed a scratch, no, more like a little irremovable patch/spot/dot/star on my one and only 18-55mm lens (yes, this kindergarten lens is the ONLY one I have).

...and to think I just bought a macro filter for it T_T

I took a few test shots to erm see if there's any noticeable problems, and so far it looks quite alright. Maybe the scratch has been there for a long time, but I just didn't notice it -_-

I can't solve this bloody cube. Yes I'm this stupid, thanks for reminding. Anyway, it's nice to photograph, since the colors are so... nice.

I don't seem to have anything nice to say about anything or to anyone today.
May tomorrow be a different day. Lol.

Half a Set the Fourth - The Half Set

Half a set, because clouds were all covering the sun, so we couldn't actually see the sunset.

Half a Set the Third - Setting Sail

Sorry, the title's a bit misleading. I boarded no ship.
